Pals has shown kids that exploring the friendship between aliens and robots can make a big bang. But now, we’re encouraging you to explore the final frontier this summer: outer space!!! As you know, Pals has a passion for giving back and right now we’d like to give your little one the gift of cosmic love 🚀 A space themed party is a super fun event that kids can really **orbit** into. Whether you or your little star is a Trekky, a Jedi or a shooting star enthusiast, we at Pals have found the galaxy’s key to throwing an epic space-themed summer shindig. Space isn’t some abstract theme- it’s real life! It’s where we live and exist. And working together and learning is the only way we will conquer space. So. Read our how-to party guide below!

Space Exploration Day is on the 20th of July. So, July seems to be the perfect month to throw your Stellar Summer Soiree. This year, Space Exploration Day commemorates the 50th anniversary of the late Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the Moon. Take some time to celebrate the world’s historical space adventures, eat and drink yummy things, and happy exploring!

Cosmic Concoctions

When it comes to space exploration, you and you’re little explorers are going to need the proper refreshments.

Deep Space Decorations

The party is also going to need some interstellar decorations that will take your guests out of the atmosphere! Visually, lights are going to really set the mood. The scenery of planets and stars are what truly takes your breath away (besides the lack of oxygen)! Glow sticks can be a great way to have your guests light up from head to toe, while neon lights are a great way to light up the house for when the darkness of space can be too much. You can check out Improb’s list of the 10 best star projectors that will make your guests’ curiosity for the stars expand, just like the universe 😛

Ecliptic Eats

Toy Story is a classic that explores unlikely friendships, but most importantly, it explores… outer space! With the release of Toy Story 4 this summer, a great way to feed your intergalactic guests is food from Pizza Planet, the famous pizza joint from the movie! This can easily be done by printing out pizza planet logos and slapping them on any type of pizza box. We also have Futurism’s list of some of the Sweetest Sci-Fi Treats in the Galaxy for when astronauts get a sweet tooth. And, if you think your guests are true astronauts, check out this website that sells actual astronaut food consumed by NASA’s finest.

Asteroids and Activities

Having everything look and taste good at your party is only half the mission! The experiences, explorations and activities you have planned for your guests is what will truly make for an unforgettable space adventure. One of the easiest and most fun activities for an outer space activity is to get everyone’s hands on a telescope for a night sky viewing. Breaking out the telescope can be a fun and educational experience, showing your little ones the waxing wonders of the moon and beyond. Here you can find some telescopes for under $100 that can provide a space adventure in the comforts of your backyard.

How about a space-themed outdoor movie screening? Whether you watch a cosmic classic like Star Wars or Pixar’s debut film Toy Story, a movie screening under the stars is a great way for Earth’s atmosphere to take over the party’s atmosphere.

Outer Space Trivia is another stellar way to animate the competitive nature of your intergalactic travelers. While Conversation Starters World has 22 Space Trivia Questions, the internet is a vast black hole when it comes to information about the universe. This is a great educational opportunity for children and adults alike. Planetary prizes could also be offered to the cadets with all the answers, creating quite the competitive crater at your party.

While the number of possible activities could be astronomical, one last activity that might interest your guests and their kids is a painting session. Painting with a Twist is something that is taking the country by storm. An intergalactic gala is a great place for the whole family to paint the next Starry Night, or any type of mercurial masterpiece.

Music from the Milky Way

Music sets the mood for any party and Pals has actually curated our own playlist of Intergalactic Party Jams which could be fun for a space explorer of any age to float around to. Pals has also set you up with 3 other Spotify playlists to have your guests feeling astronomical. This playlist has lots of space themed songs especially for younger kids. We found this playlist which features sci-fi movie scores! Here is another playlist of cool space themed songs we found for the discerning listener and hipster kid!
